For many African Americans the church is one of the great cornerstones of the community. Unfortunately, in many instances the African American church has favored messages of intolerance over messages of affirmation and equality. To change hearts and minds in the African American community and gain support for the LGBT community we must break the silence around sexuality in the black church and challenge the status quo.
