HRC's work in Maine (from staff and members) has been great along with our coalition partners.

All the work leads up to today!
Strategy
After prepping canvass maps and materials until well after midnight, my team of amazing volunteers and I got a couple of hours of sleep before hitting the doors at 7 am as the polls opened. As we head into this historic day, there is a sense of excitement and responsibility as we fight to make Maine the first state in the country to defend marriage equality at the polls.
Across the state today, hundreds of volunteers will knock on doors to ensure that every vote is cast to protect fairness and equality for gay and lesbian couples in Maine.
For months they have been making phone calls, knocking on doors, recruiting volunteers, preparing canvass materials — anything it takes to ensure that Question 1 is defeated!
Continue checking back here at HRC Back Story all day for updates on the Maine campaign and other critical races around the country.  I will keep you updated. NO ON 1!
