President Obama’s Visit a Demonstration of Democratic Enthusiasm
Supporters Line Streets; More than 1,000 Sign Up to Volunteer

COLUMBUS – President Obama’s visit to Ohio today was met with a sea of blue as supporters lined the streets of Downtown Columbus. Democratic supporters, cheering for President Obama and Governor Strickland, vastly outnumbered Tea Party protestors. The Columbus Dispatch reported, “When the president arrived back Downtown, supporters drowned out and dwarfed the smaller number of protesters.”

Pictures of the Democratic supporters can be seen here.

Yesterday, the Ohio Democratic Party announced ten winners of a drawing to have lunch with President Obama. Over 1,000 supporters who signed up to volunteer for the 2010 Democratic coordinated campaign were entered in the drawing. Margie Daffey of East Columbus, one of the drawing’s ten winners, was interviewed by ABC6. View the interview here.
