Columbus continues climbing the ranks of the top moving destinations in the U.S., according to a new report from U-Haul International Inc.
The Phoenix-based company in its 2009 National Migration Trend Report found Columbus was the 16th-busiest destination for one-way movers traveling more than 50 miles. The U-Haul data was compiled using more than 1 million transactions recorded in 2009.
Columbus in U-Haul’s 2008 report was ranked 24th in the listing, up from 35th in 2007.
The most population destination for movers last year was Houston, followed by Las Vegas, Chicago, San Antonio and Orlando, Fla. No other Ohio cities made U-Haul’s top 50 list.
