Westgate neighborhood hosting home and garden tour
Westgate residents will allow visitors to get a close look at houses this weekend that have helped make it one of Columbus' most inviting neighborhoods.
The Westgate Neighbors Association will host a tour of nine homes and gardens in the West Side neighborhood from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday.
One pre-Depression-era house features the original wallpaper and light fixtures. Another has the original dumbwaiter in the kitchen.
And one has more than 180 varieties of roses.
Presale tickets can be purchased for $10 on the Westgate group's Website at http://www.westgateneighbors.org, at Gearhart's Hardware at 2885 W. Broad St., or at Haldeman Cleaners, 3117 W. Broad St.
The price on Saturday will be $12. Tickets will be available at the welcome tent at Binns Island in the 100 block of Binns Boulevard.
